A highly experienced litigator, Amy Sheggerud-Woods is accredited as a Commercial Litigation Specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria.
Amy’s practice involves disputes relating to contracts, property, trusts, leasing, partnerships, directors and shareholders of companies, consumer law, franchising, wills and estates litigation, as well as the recovery and enforcement of debt.
Amy has worked on a variety of commercial litigation matters for corporate, government, and individual clients. She has also advised on risk mitigation strategies to assist clients in avoiding costly disputes.
Amy has been advising insolvency practitioners and commercial clients in relation to the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 since its commencement, including consequences of defective or non-registration on the Personal Property Securities Register.
With the objective of achieving commercial results for clients, Amy is dedicated to providing thorough, timely, and cost-effective representation.
Amy was admitted by the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2018 as a public notary and regularly conducts litigation in the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court, Supreme Court, County Court, Magistrates’ Court, Family Court and VCAT.
Amy is a professional member of ARITA and has expertise in corporate and personal insolvency, acting for administrators and liquidators of insolvent companies and trustees of bankrupt estates, as well as for parties defending claims by administrators and liquidators under the Corporations Act 2001, and by and trustees under the Bankruptcy Act 1966 and general law.
